1) NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OCEANOGRAPHY- 40KM - DONA PAULA
National Institute of Oceanography (NIO)Goa is an integral part of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR )dedicated in the R&D field related to ocean studies. The Institute, a brain child of Dr.D.N Wadia was founded in 1965 and has since been contributing substantially in the field of ocean studies.
Although the institute began its work in Delhi, it was in 1977 that it shifted its base permanently to the azure backdrop of the Arabian Sea, in Goa. There are 3 other regional stations of NIO located in Kochi, Mumbai and Vishakapatnam.The Institute is located in Dona Paula lying in close proximity to the Dabolim Airport and Margao Railway station. The Institute functions under a Director who reports to CSIR. All the campuses of the Institute exhibit grandeur in terms of the architecture of buildings.

2) OLD GOA CHURCH - 45KM - PANJIM

 This famous church in Old Goa is decicated to St. Francis Xavier. The ancient building was built in early 16th century. But due to     heavy destructions on the old structure, a new building with even better architecture was built in 1884.

3) KARWAR-SEA BIRD -95KM
The Indian Navy is on course to commission the first phase of 'Project Seabird', its integrated strategic naval base at Karwar in Karnataka, notwithstanding a labour dispute that affected offshore works. On completion, the Rs.35,000-crore naval base will be the biggest one this side of Suez. The first phase, costing Rs.2,480 crores, is to be open for ships in January 2005, with its commissioning scheduled for May that year. Project Seabird, which is likely to be christened INS (Indian Naval Ship) Kadamba once it is commissioned, will be the Navy's third major port after Mumbai and Visakhapatnam from where it can locate and manoeuvre its operational fleet. It will decongest Mumbai.

4) BITS-PILANI , GOA CAMPUS - 10KM
The Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani Goa Campus or BITS Pilani, Goa Campus is an all-India Institute for higher education located in Mormugao Taluka of Goa state, India. The institute offers undergraduate courses in engineering and Majors in the sciences with an accompanying humanities department. It is a campus of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.

8)  MAYEM LAKE - 65KM
Mayem Lake in Goa, a charming tiny lake is situated at Mayem near Bicholim, in Bicholim taluka, North Goa. It lies at about 35kms from the city of Panaji. It is quite a popular picnic spot as well as a hot favorite visiting arena for the tourists. Fame of the lake has eventually increased with the introduction of the boating facilities at the lake. For lodging purposes GTDC has built cottages in the area

9) SALEEM ALI BIRD SANCTUARY - 75KM
This is Goa's only bird sanctuary, 1.8 Sq Km in area. A variety of local and migratory birds can be found on this island.
From Panaji , one needs to take a bus or a cab to the Ribandar ferry wharf and then take a ferry across the Mandovi river to the island of Chorao. The sanctuary is within walking distance from the ferry wharf at Chorao.
On the western tip of the island of Chorao along River Mandovi, mangrove swamps cover this bird-watchers' paradise aptly named after India's best-known ornithologist.

10) BONDLA SANCTUARY - 70KM
Location: Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, Goa is located in the lush upland foothills of the Western Ghats. It is located at about 55 kms from Panaji and 38 km from Margao.
 It is the smallest of the wildlife sanctuaries of Goa, covering around 8 sq. kms. The sanctuary includes a botanical Garden, fenced deer park and zoo. It is an ideal jungle resort and a major attraction for nature lovers and school going children.

11)  NAVAL MUSEUM-DABOLIM - 8KM
The first naval museum in Asia was inaugurated at Dabolim, Vasco in 1998 and opened for public from the 19th October 1998. The museum showcases the history of Indian Naval Aviation, various aircrafts, weapons, sensors, safety equipment, rare photographs depicting Goa's liberation and artifacts.

A multimedia games section is an added attraction. The museum is situated in the picturesque backdrop of the Bogmalo beach.

12) SRI MANGESH TEMPLE-PONDA - 40KM
Located about 21 km from Panaji, the Mangueshi temple stands tall amidst the scores of Hindu temple that dot the Goan landscape. One of the survivors of the destruction unleashed by the Portuguese, the Manguesh temple was originally located at Kushasthali (present day Cortalim). With the threat of persecution looming, the linga was transferred from the original temple to the present location at Priol, then a part of the dominions of Sultan Adil Shah.
After the shifting of the deity in 1560, the Sri Manguesh temple underwent many subsequent rounds of renovation during the reign of the Marathas and again in the year 1890. As part of the refurbishment of the temple in 1973, a golden kalash (holy vessel) was fitted atop the tall dome of the temple.


13) NATIONAL CENTRE FOR ANTARTIC & OCEAN RESAERCH - 6KM The National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research (NCAOR) was established as an autonomous R & D Institution of the Department of Ocean Development (DOD) on the 25th May 1998.With a mission mandate that is quite challenging, the Centre is designated as the nodal organisation for the co-ordination and implementation of the Indian Antarctic Programme, including the maintenance of India's permanent station in Antarctica.Spread across 147,660 sq. mts sprawling area, set atop a picturesque plateau, NCAOR is located in India’s most seafaring state of Goa


14) GOA UNIVERSITY-PANJIM - 25KM
The University was established in June 1985 around the nucleus of Centre for Post Graduate Instruction and Research of the University of Bombay in Goa. The University Campus is located on the outskirts of Panaji, the capital city and spread over nearly 173 hectares on the Taleigao plateau overlooking the scenic Zuari River joining the Arabian Sea.


15) GOA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, GOA - 40KM

16) MOLLEM NATIONAL PARK ,MOLLEM - 45KM
Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary earlier known as Mollem Game Sanctuary(1969) is situated close to the Mollem village  at the foot of the Western Ghats, on the eastern border of Goa. It is 60 km away from the state capital, Panaji. The sanctuary, Goa's largest wildlife preserve covers an area of 240sq.km. The core zone of the sanctuary comprising an area of 107 sq. km. was notified as a National Park during 1978 known as Mollem National Park.
